Visiting Dubai I discovered an exciting, open, export market and a city which hosts premier international events then a multitude of opportunity and entertainment is waiting for you in Dubai.
30 years ago the United Arab Emirates was a collection of tiny tribal villages on the coast that had traditionally traded in pearls.
When the infrastructure was created to extract their massive oil reserves, the Emirates set about a path of wealth creation, which led former Quantum Fund Manager Jim Rogers and world traveler to describe the Abu Dhabi Emirate as “the most lavish place I have ever visited”
I was impressed by the accomplishments of the Emirates and the visionary leadership UAE President Sheikh Zayed.
In 1971 he took over the reigns of leadership with a vision and a plan. He opened up the economy, bought in some of the best talent from around the world to design the future, and then he opened up the labor markets to make it happen. (Only around 20% of the population is locals)
Dubai and the other Emirates have transformed themselves into a super modern vibrant state with one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. They continue to have rapid consistent economic growth, they have money to spend now, their incomes are rising, and there’s a growing population.
Which means that there’s money to be made. One of Dubai’s Unique Selling Proposition’s to an exporter is no income taxes and a flat 5% duty on imports for just about everything.
