Master P is the Hip Hop Mogul who built a hundred million dollar empire from a $10,000 dollar inheritance. He came out of the New Orlean Projects which have been given a lot of media exposure over the last few months due to Hurricane Katrina. How did Master P go from the projects to owning a multi million dollar hip hop empire in No Limit Records?

Master P - Discipline, and passion about what I’m trying to accomplish.

I surround myself with people that are as serious as I am, and often that means no sleep, tireless commitment, and the ability to juggle a lot at one time. I grew up with a grandmother who constantly reinforced the value of hard work in me. Even though we didn’t have much, I lived by the philosophy of “survival of the fittest!”

Here’s the other thing that made Master P a whole lot of money without registering on the radars of big label record execs.

He found out exactly what his target market wanted and he sold it to them over and over again. Whilest other people criticized his music and other merchandise Master P simply listened to what his audience wanted and kept on selling it to them. Plus he maintained ownership of all his intellectual property using Priority Records as a distributer for No Limits Records. Thats why Master P has previously been listed 2 years in a row in Fortune magazines richest under 40 years list
