On Channel 9’s Today show this morning Karl Stefanovic was reporting on a Ukraine swimming coach who hit his daughter at the Melbourne Aquatic Center during the World Swimming Champs.

Karl Stefanovic said something along the lines of “it’s fair to say that this altercation is a reflection of the relationship of this father and daughter… and maybe the country they come from”

You have to wonder what Karl Stefanovic was trying to imply with the last bit of what he said.

The thing that struck me about the comment is that he said it as if domestic violence didn’t exist in Australia.

Channel 9 was showing the video over and over again so I turned The Today Show off. As if the girl hadn’t been through enough already.

Maybe things will get better when Jessica Rowe gets back.
