The simplist and easiest way to gain steadily increasing traffic is to create one new keyword rich - quality content - article per day.

The next easiest and most effective way is to actively persuade websites with high page ranks (and more importantly high page rank web pages) to link to your site.

Your article must have something compelling and of value. This will cause your visitor to actually read your article (people will not come back to your site or read your article if its a bunch of dribble)

So content is not king. Content *of value* is king. How do you create content *of value*?

Well the easiest way is to focus on writing answers to common questions to a niche topic that you are an expert on.

Example: Lets say you’re really good at playing guitar. You write small articles that reveal some short cuts and tips that make it easier to learn or easier to perform a certain technique on a guitar.

If you have a website relating to your business or hobbie you will probably no more about that topic than 99% of other people

Tips and tricks that you think are no brainers is actually valuable information that most people have no clue about.

If a newbie to your topic comes by your site they’ll be thankful for any tip or trick that makes their life easier - and they’ll probably come back to your site later which gives you more chances of getting your offers etc in front of them (even better - you get them to sign up to your ezine so you can promote to them over and over again)

If you write value added content which is keyword rich (so people can find you on the search engines) Eventually others will begin to link to your site also. You can also submit these articles to article distributors who will syndicate your articles so they can be used on other peoples sites

Its not enough to get any link though. You need links from websites that the search engines rate. You get a general idea of how much a site is liked by using the google toolbar and turning on the page rank feature. Stuart McHenry has some great ideas about this.

Then you find sites that are similar to yours with high rankings and you ask them to exchange links

Fresh Quality Content + Quality Inbound Links = More Traffic

Over the month of September and October I’ll be trying a little experiment. I’ll be doing three simple things each day

1. Writing one new article each day

2. Getting one new link to my site per day

3. Submitting my article to 1 article submission site.
