You may have heard of young Hawaiin surfer Bethany Hamilton who had her arm bit off by a shark while surfing.

Whats amazing is not that shes back surfing but shes actually highly competitive and will most likely go pro in couple of years once shes old enough.

Bethany Hamilton has been kicking butt and taking names down at Phillip Island Victoria Flynns Reef.

Paddling into a wave is hard enough with two arms but Bethany has managed to teach herself how to surf with one arm on a specially modified board.

“I love surfing at Phillip Island,” said Hamilton.

“The waves today are similar to the big powerful waves we get in Hawaii.

“I learned to surf and compete in big waves and it just makes surfing more challenging and fun.”

She says she went out surfing 3 weeks after the accident and got back up on her feet after third wave and was super stoked.

With one arm waves shes taking off late on 6 foot waves doing massive off the top turns and even scoring barrels.
