This baby orangutan and Sumatran tiger cub are best friends and they live at the Taman Safari zoo.

Nia and Irma 5-month-old female baby primates , and cubs Dema and Manis are two months old.

Orangutan are one of the great apes and today they are only found in rainforests on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra - Pongo pygmaeus.

The Sumatran species is estimated at 7000-7500 individuals while the Borneo population is estimated at about 50,000 in the wild. Both habitats of these Orangutans is under threat. Orangutans only give birth every 7 - 9 years and have a gestation period of 227 to 275 days - similar to humans.

The wild population of the Sumatran Tiger is much less at an estimated 400 and 500 animals. Male Sumatran tigers average 92 inches in length from head to tail and weigh about 300 pounds. Females average 78 inches in length and weigh about 200 pounds.

Generally tigers have a gestation period of 103 days and the tiger cubs are born weighing around 3 pounds.
