Micro Persuasion points out an interesting defininition from information week for web 2.0.

Here’s my definition of Web 2.0 - a web site that makes money - because before almost no web sites were and they were still seen as being legitimate.

But seriously, web 2.0 is all about getting more interaction from users. Getting them more addicted to this socially isolating pretend world of information.

Ajax is set to be used by 3 in 4 developers

According to Gavin, purchasing a number of text links over a variety of niche sites which relate to your own can bring more targeted traffic compared to a banner ad on a generic site.

Survey finds online advertising spend increasing

Online advertising is still increasing according to a Roy Morgan poll for the Internet Bureau.

8% of total advertising agency spend was on online advertising and this would increase to 12% over the next year.

Two-thirds of the spending was on general online advertising such as website banner ads and outbound, permission-based email. The rest went on search engines and directories, such as paid placement on Google or Yellow Pages online.

Number of Web Sties On Internet to reach 100 Million

The internet is on track to reach 100 million web sites this month.

Frankly I’m surprised by this.

I thought the number of web sites would already be greater than 100 million. Most of the new host names added to the internet are google or microsoft based.

61% of web servers run apache while 31% run windows.
